A 44-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing 3 cats by throwing them off from the 15th floor of his apartment.
According to a statement by Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid, police received a report about a man tossing 3 cats out of his apartment unit on Jalan PJS 8/9, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
The suspect was later arrested at his rented apartment unit by police, who also found the cats’ carcasses.
Admitted to the crime
The suspect subsequently admitted to killing the felines by throwing them off the 15th floor of his apartment.
He has since been remanded for four days starting Oct 17.
The case is now being investigated under Section 428 of the Penal Code for mischief by killing or maiming an animal, which carries an imprisonment of up to three years, a fine, or both upon conviction.
