A single mother’s determination to make ends meet

With her husband’s sudden departure, Jaiton faced the daunting task of single-handedly providing for her six children. However, she found solace in the support she received from Socso, which helped alleviate the financial burden on her family.

Balancing her busy schedule, Jaiton acknowledges that she rarely gets quality time with her children due to her various responsibilities. Despite these challenges, she remains a pillar of strength for her kids, guiding them to be independent and responsible individuals.

“I teach them basic life skills like cooking rice, ironing clothes, and doing other household chores. I believe that God has blessed me with wonderful children, and it is my duty to care for them. They are the driving force behind my unwavering dedication and hard work,” Jaiton shared with pride.

Mother’s Day celebrations may not be extravagant for Jaiton and her family, but on rare occasions, her eldest son, Muhammad Hakimi Hatta, 19, and his siblings would surprise her with a heartfelt Mother’s Day card. To mark the occasion, Jaiton would treat her entire family to a special meal of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC).

Muhammad Hakimi, her eldest son currently studying at Kolej Poly-Tech MARA (KPTM) in Ipoh, admires his mother’s resilience and is determined to alleviate her burden. Recognizing the sacrifices she has made, he expressed his hopes of finishing his studies and supporting his mother.
