The passenger claimed that another incident occurred after the train passed Damansara Idaman station.

A loud sound resembling an explosion was allegedly heard from outside the train.

Smoke could also be seen through the window, causing concern among passengers on board.

The train later arrived at the next station, where all passengers were instructed to get off and wait for another train to continue their journey.

Sparks seen coming from empty train

Towards the end of the video, the affected train could be seen leaving the station without passengers.

Sparks and loud noises appeared to be coming from the rear section of the train as it moved away.

The passenger said the next train arrived at around 7.34pm. He eventually reached Bandar Utama station at 7.42pm.

Rapid KL confirms technical issue

In a statement posted on X on July 14, Rapid KL confirmed that the incident was caused by a technical issue involving a train component that came into contact with the power conductor.

The contact caused a small explosion like sound and sparks to appear.

Rapid KL said the affected train was immediately removed from service, while all passengers were asked to get off at the next station and continue their journey on another train.

No injuries were reported and services along the Shah Alam Line continued operating as usual.

The train was later taken to the depot for a detailed inspection. The affected component was replaced, and the train was only allowed to return to service after it had been inspected and confirmed safe.

Rapid KL added that inspections and monitoring were also carried out on other trains as a precautionary measure.
