Messi defeats egg on Instagram
The photo of an egg standing upright and in perfect condition was first posted on Instagram in January 2019, where it has racked up 57.6 million likes as of today (Dec 21).
However, it was later dethroned by Lionel Messi’s Dec 19 post, where it garnered more than 67 million likes.
In the lengthy caption, Messi dedicated his win to his family and Argentinians around the world.
Argentina defeated France in an exciting finals match 4-2 on penalties, where it was Messi’s first time in netting the World Cup win for his home country.

This win also marks Argentina’s third World Cup victory, where they were declared champions in 1978 and 1986.
Congratulations to Messi on the record and to the egg, it was good while it lasted.
