Police have confirmed that 6-year-old Albertine Leo Jia Hui, who went missing at the Bon Odori event in Johor Bahru last Saturday (Jul 20), has been found.
According to Sin Chew Daily, this was confirmed by Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, who said the girl was found in Batang Kali in Hulu Selangor.
In a press conference held by Johor police chief Commissioner M. Kumar, he also confirmed the news, saying that Jia Hui has been sent to the hospital though she suffered no injuries and police are currently waiting for the doctor’s report.
He also added police are still working to establish the motive behind Jia Hui’s alleged kidnapping.
WeirdKaya previously reported that a total of three suspects have been arrested so far in connection to Jia Hui’s disappearance, where they now face charges of kidnapping with intent to secretly and wrongfully confine a person under Section 365 of the Penal Code.
Now the total number of suspects arrested has risen to five, which consists of three men and two women, all of whom are locals. Out of the five, four suspects have been remanded for four days starting today, reported NST.
If found guilty, they face up to seven years in prison and a fine.
