LANGKAWI – As a strategy to recover the country’s economy from the pandemic, the government announced plans to reopen tourism in Langkawi.
Muhyiddin said that the government has plans to implement the tourism bubble.

The plan was launched today (16 Sept), as the first batch of 159 tourists arrived.
The visitors had boarded MH1432 which took off from KLIA.
The plane arrived at 10.15 am this morning at Langkawi Airport.

The visitors were personally welcomed by the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Dato’ Sri Hajah Nancy Haji as well as First Minister of Kedah Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.

Additionally, the welcome included traditional dance performances and souvenirs for each tourist.
