This amazing win makes it the third year in a row that the airport has grabbed this award, showing that it’s a top player in the Asia-Pacific region’s aviation scene.

The Airports Council International (ACI) World recently announced this award, recognising Langkawi International Airport’s outstanding service standards.

Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd happily shared the news with the New Straits Times, highlighting the airport’s dedication to giving passengers top-notch service and satisfaction.

“The ASQ programme by ACI establishes the benchmark for global airport customer experience, employing a rigorous methodology that involves on-site surveys with passengers. These surveys evaluate satisfaction levels across over 30 performance metrics, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of airport services,” remarked Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd.

ACI conducted a thorough evaluation process, collecting over 600,000 passenger surveys from more than 400 airports worldwide.

More tourists? Thanks, new flights

Langkawi International Airport’s win in the ASQ Awards coincides with a significant rise in tourist arrivals to the island. This increase is thanks to the introduction of new airline routes, making Langkawi even more appealing as a top travel spot.

“As Langkawi continues to attract global tourists, we are witnessing a resurgence in travel, highlighted by the recent introduction of new airline routes such as flydubai’s Dubai-Langkawi route,” stated Mohamed Rastam Shahrom, Malaysia Airports’ acting group chief executive officer.

Adding more airline routes doesn’t just make it easier to get to Langkawi; it also helps the airport grow and become more famous worldwide.

Luis Felipe de Oliveira, the head of ACI World, praised Langkawi International Airport for its strong commitment to making customers happy. He stressed how important it is for airports to provide excellent service, especially now when passengers’ needs are always changing.

“In an era where passenger expectations are evolving rapidly, excellence in customer service isn’t just a goal; it’s the key to ensuring airports remain not just gateways, but memorable destinations in themselves,” remarked de Oliveira.
