At the workplace, there would be certain people where we simply cannot get along with due to a clash in personalities or unresolved misunderstandings.
However, a man in Kuching decided to take things to a deadlier level by firing at his ex-supervisor with a shotgun over an old grudge.
Kuching man fires shotgun at ex-supervisor
According to a statement by Serian district police chief Deputy Superintenent Aswandy Anis, police received a report about the incident that took place at Batu 37, Jalan Kuching-Serian in Kuching at around 8.10am yesterday (May 10), reported Sin Chew Daily.
“When they arrived at the scene, they seized a shotgun from a 67-year-old suspect who had used it to fire a shot at a 39-year-old woman who worked at a concrete company.
“As a result of the shootout, the woman suffered injuries to her right shoulder and right arm. She was later sent to the Serian Hospital for further treatment,” he said.
Shootout was due to an old grudge
The Chinese daily also reported that the reason for the shooting was allegedly due to workplace friction which occurred between the suspect and the victim, where the latter was the suspect’s former supervisor at the concrete company.
As a result of the fallout, the suspect lost his job and harboured a grudge against his ex-supervisor, causing him to exact revenge on her by firing a shotgun at her.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
While there are some people whom we simply cannot bear or have disagreements with, it’s still not right to take matters into your own hands and mete out justice with violence!
