“Trashy Curry Puff!” — Kuantan Woman Slams Bazaar Stall For Selling Mouldy Curry Puffs

Looks like an X-ray of lung cancer.
Now that it’s the Ramadan season, there are dozens of food stalls being set up at Ramadan bazaars all across the country selling popular delicacies, with curry puffs being one of them.

Unfortunately for one woman in Kuantan, she received an unacceptable and potentially lethal form of curry puffs after she discovered its filling was covered in mould.

Bought mouldy curry puffs at bazaar

In a Facebook post uploaded by a woman named Emma Razali to the group Warga Kuantan Official on Thursday (Mar 30), she described her unpleasant experience after purchasing “trashy curry puffs” from a stall at a Ramadan bazaar.

She wrote that she had bought two packets of curry puffs and was eating it when her sister told her that it tasted bitter.

To Emma’s horror, she saw that the entire filling was covered in mould when she opened it up and noticed that the crust looked as though it had been refried several times.

This is the worst kind of food I’ve eaten in my entire life. It didn’t just taste sour or stale, but it has reached the point of becoming mouldy, like curry puffs that were unsold for the past 3-4 days and refried again.

Emma also said that the consequences would’ve been unimaginable if a pregnant woman or child were to consume the curry puffs.

“Is it worth getting a profit by causing food poisoning in others? If you want to sell (your products), it has to be done in a responsible and genuine manner,” she wrote.

Towards the end of the post, Emma stressed that she wasn’t trying to achieve online fame by posting the photos but wanted to point out how wrong it was for the stall to sell such food.

She also disclosed the stall’s location, stating that it was situated at Sungai Isap.

Netizens call for stern action

The post has since garnered more than 2,000 reactions and 1,400 shares at the time of writing, where it left netizens in shock.

A netizen expressed disappointment in the stall’s dishonest methods in trying to scoop in more profits during the holy month by selling subpar products.

Some advised Emma to quickly lodge a report with the Health Ministry as food poisoning could be deadly for certain groups of people. They also called upon the health authorities to shut down such stalls to protect public safety.

Another suggested that Emma make the stall owner have a taste of his own medicine (or curry puffs) to teach him a lesson.
