In what was meant to be a routine first visit to a restaurant at Puchong, a family encountered a rather unwelcoming reception that has left them stunned and the local community talking.
The incident unfolded when the shop owner confronted the family with an aggressive demeanor, forbidding the presence of their personal water bottle with a near shout: “No outside drinks allowed, put away the water bottle!”
The family, taken aback by the sudden aggression akin to that of an infuriated person, were perplexed at the situation.
Customers were shocked by the unfriendly approach
The husband attempted to address the issue calmly at the water counter, inquiring if a polite reminder wouldn’t have sufficed instead of such a hostile attitude.
Despite their compliance with the shop’s policy by ordering three meals, they felt the owner’s confrontational approach was unnecessary.
Things escalated when the owner, seemingly ready for a physical altercation, advanced towards the husband.
“And when his wife tried to step in, she wasn’t any nicer, dropping snarky comments that basically said, “Don’t bother arguing with the broke folks.””
The family acknowledged that the shop did have a notice prohibiting outside drinks; however, they had not noticed it upon their first entry.
They explained that they brought their own beverages due to their child’s recent bout of coughing, indicating a simple need for personal health precautions.
The issue, they claimed, wasn’t about the shop’s policy against outside drinks, but the manner in which it was enforced.
