This morning, those arriving and waiting for their loved ones to arrive at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 (KLIA) were sent running for their lives after two gunshots were fired by an unknown suspect.
Now, police have successfully identified the man believed to be responsible for the attack and are in the process of hunting him down.
KLIA gunman had 3 criminal records
The gunman was identified as 38-year-old Hafizul Harawi, who was the husband and business partner of the victim, reported New Straits Times (NST).

Speaking to reporters about the latest developments, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Commissioner Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said Hafizul had a criminal past, where he racked up a total of three criminal records.
Two records were for intimidation (Section 506 of the Penal Code) and one for theft and impersonating a civil servant (Section 380/Section 170 of Penal Code).
Scoop also reported that Hafizul was in the process of divorcing his wife, who was his intended target in the shooting.
Summary of events
At 1.30am this morning, two gunshots were fired at KLIA 1, where a bodyguard of Hafizul’s wife was left severely injured after he was hit by the bullets.

Following the shooting, Hafizul fled the scene and is believed to have went up north in the country, with the police hot at his heels.
The public is warned not to approach Hafizul should they cross paths with him, adding that police have classified him as “armed and dangerous”.
Instead, they are to keep their arm’s length and contact the police immediately.
