We normally associate KFC with its crispy fried chicken and of course, the famous tagline ‘It’s finger lickin’ good’. But did you know that the fast food restaurant chain also gives out financial aid for underprivileged students?
Yup, you read it right. KFC Malaysia has actually launched its own scholarship programme specially for Malaysians wanting to further their studies but do not have the financial means to do so.

KFC M’sia unveils scholarship program
According to a press statement by QSR Brands, the company that owns and manages KFC Malaysia, the KFC Scholarship is an initiative “aimed at empowering over 30 students from underprivileged communities in Malaysia in their higher education journey”.
Under this programme, a total of RM2.1 million will be set aside for 30 deserving students from the B40 community to pursue their undergraduate degree of up to 4 years at any of the 20 public universities in the country.
On top of that, the scholarship will fully fund their tuition fees and monthly living allowances as well as provide KFC meal vouchers.
As it is with most scholarships, interested candidates must first fulfil the following criteria before applying:
- Must be from a B40 household and aged 18 to 21 years old upon applying
- Must have received an unconditional offer letter from a Malaysian public university
- Scored at least 6As (A or A+) for SPM and obtained at least an A or A+ for BM, English, and Sejarah
- Scored a CGPA of 3.0 in STPM, Asasi, or Matriculation
- Scored a CGPA and a Jayyid Jiddan level for STAM
Upon submitting their application, shortlisted candidates will participate in a screening and selection process by a panel of QSR Brands’ leadership team before they are awarded the scholarship.

Registration is open until July 31, 2024 so if you’re interested to apply and have met all the criteria, you can submit your application via https://kfc.com.my/scholarship.
