A fire broke out and engulfed a popular restaurant serving Western food at Pusat Bandar Menjalara, Kepong, yesterday (Aug 17), reported China Press.

According to a spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department Kuala Lumpur, the incident occurred at D’Fortune Western Cuisine & Cafe at 7.27pm.
He added that 36 firemen were dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call.
“The ground floor of the restaurant was 100% destroyed and it took the team 20 minutes to put the fire out,” he said, adding that no casualties were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
China Press also reported that witnesses at the scene not only saw thick smoke billowing into the air but also heard loud sounds of glass shattering.
