Recently, a Malaysian made headlines by spending a surprising RM69 on a plate of Nasi Kandar, setting a record at a popular restaurant.
However, a man from Kelantan has set a new benchmark by paying a staggering RM78 for his Nasi Kandar order.
New Nasi Kandar
In a Facebook post shared by Nasi Kandar Sulaiman restaurant, located in Penang, they revealed that the previous record set by a Johorean was successfully shattered by someone from Kelantan.
“RM78. A person from Kelantan breaks the record. New all-time biggest record.” they wrote.
The customer’s RM78 Nasi Kandar includes dishes such as 7 squids (RM49), 7 prawns (RM14), chicken for RM5.50, squid egg for RM7, RM1 okra, and white rice for RM1.50.
They expressed their surprise, never anticipating that someone would come from a distance to set a new record.
The customer who shattered the record was seen sharing his thought in the comment section along with an empty plate, praising the deliciousness and the satisfaction of traveling far for such a tasty meal.
“I’m the owner..Alhamdudillah its delicious…feeling satisfied after traveling far to eat food like this” he said.
In another post, Nasi Kandar Sulaiman also showcased a leaderboard, spotlighting locals from different states who made it to the top three for buying the expensive Nasi Kandar.
Kelantan grabbed the first spot, followed by Johor at 2nd place (RM68), and Penang at the third spot with RM61.
Netizens were thrilled
Some found it amusing, while others openly declared they were ready to take on the challenge of breaking the RM78 Nasi Kandar record.
“Awesome, brother. Impressive. During the school holiday in February, I’ll break his record. Just wait and see.”
“Later I also want to break this record.”
As the famous restaurant revels in the glory, they’re now on the hunt for the next record-breaker.
They questioned: “Will this record also be broken? Let’s wait and see!”
