There has been plenty of news about Form 5 students celebrating the end of their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) papers in an extreme manner, such as the time when 63 candidates in Melaka where fined for causing noise pollution while taking their motorcycles to the streets to mark their ‘independence’ on March 4.
This time, a TikTok video showing a student throwing his textbooks into a river has blown up on multiple social media platforms and even caught the attention of the Ministry of Environment and Water (KASA).
The student in question is believed to have just completed SPM and subsequently sent his textbooks on a one-way ticket trip down the river. Netizens criticised his actions as not only disrespectful of the knowledge imparted to him but also a blatant disregard for the environment.
Surprise! Guess who?
KASA responded to the matter today on its Facebook page Kementerian Alam Sekitar Dan Air,
where it delivered the ultimate clap back with the following caption:
“If anyone knows this brother, KASA would like to invite him to become a member of Sahabat Sungai Malaysia (Friends of River Malaysia) and join us in organizing a river cleaning program nationwide in conjunction with World Water Day on March 22.”
Several netizens joined into the fun by “congratulating” the student in securing a job right after SPM.
