BATU PAHAT – A 46-year-old woman died after a motorbike driven by a police officer crashed into her while crossing the road.

The officer was later sent to the Sultanah Nora Ismail hospital due to serious injuries while the woman was pronounced dead on the spot.

Batu Pahat district police chief ACP Ismail Dollah said that the accident happened at 7.45am today along KM6 of Jalan Kluang-Batu Pahat, Johor.

The motorcyclist was a policeman working at the Batu Pahat District Police Headquarters (IPD).
He was on his way to work when the incident took place,” Ismail told Berita Harian.
He also added that the victim sustained severe injuries and died at the scene.
The case is now being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Ismail also urged the public to be more cautious when crossing the road.
