Johor Woman Forced To Pull Out Eyelash Extensions Inside Toilet To Take Passport Photo

Pain.
Every five years or so, you’d have to renew your passport before you can hop onto a plane and go for your long-awaited getaway.

While most would often gripe and whine about the long waiting times at the immigration office, one woman had to do something more drastic in order to get her passport completed.

Waited 2 hours for number to be called

In a Facebook post written by a woman named Shakira Mamii, she had gone to get her passport done at UTC Johor on Apr 4.

In order to ensure that she could get her passport done without any problems, Shakira wrote she dressed appropriately and ensured her dyed hair was neatly tied back in a high ponytail without any bangs or stray hairs.

After getting her queue number at 8.30am, she waited for two hours and eventually had her number called, where the officer at the counter didn’t make any comments about her appearance.

However, a female officer at a nearby booth pointed out Shakira’s long eyelashes and insisted that she remove it in order to show her “original” face.

China Press reported that Shakira explained that she couldn’t do so as it was eyelash extensions and not fake ones that she glued on.

She was also hesitant to remove them as she had recently gotten the eyelash extensions not too long ago.

Despite her reluctance, the officers instructed her to resolve the issue at a salon before returning to the immigration office and offered to keep her queue number.

Forced to pull out eyelash extensions

In the post, Shakira acknowledged that she had erred in overlooking the aspect of eyelash extensions.

I know contact lenses and makeup are not allowed, but…I overlooked this point. After all, I see them as my own eyelashes. I think ladies who have extensions can relate.

Ultimately, she decided to remove the extensions herself in the restroom, plucking them one by one from her eyelids.

Furthermore, some of Shakira’s natural lashes also came off as well and while it was painless, the same couldn’t be said for her heart.

She then returned to the counter, where the officer expressed surprise over how quickly she had settled the issue, to which Shakira could only smile in response.

Redid her eyelashes the same night

After successfully renewing her passport, Shakira immediately visited a salon to have her eyelash extensions redone.

Not wanting to wait another two months for her natural lashes to grow back, she opted to spend an additional RM100 to have the extensions done again.

Shakira also reminded women to always be mindful of such “makeups” so that they won’t have to go through what she did.

An influencer was also forced to “sacrifice” her eyelash extensions after it was deemed to be “too long”:
