A Johorean was shocked by the KL living cost when he was billed RM86 for a nasi kandar at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.
A Facebook user, Cheng CB shared that he took one sambal squid and one fried chicken with two bowls of rice cost him RM86.
A quick check at the receipt revealed that the food court charged him for two squids even though he only took one for his nasi kandar.
Perplexed by the bill charged, he asked as to why he was charged for two fresh squids, to which the seller answered it was because the squid he took was quite huge.
But the customer defended that all the sizes of the fresh squids available are roughly the same.
He uploaded three photos of the nasi kandar and the receipts asking fellow netizens if the price was justifiable.
“This costs me RM86 at Pavilion KL. Is the price standard like this here in KL? I have no idea, I’m from Johor, this was first time having nasi kandar here.” the customer wrote.
Sotong problem again
The post has sparked a heated discussion in the comment section, with over 300 reactions and 400 comments.
“Don’t go to a mamak stall and eat mixed rice even if you are rich.”
“You have great courage if you take squid in a Malay food stall.”
One netizen stated that he, too, paid RM48 for one vegetable and one meat at the Pavilion food court.
“You don’t have to spend RM86 at food court.”
