Her mural in Kuala Lumpur was removed unexpectedly, and without any explanation.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Volchkova, who goes by @volchkovaart_, shared her disappointment and confusion regarding the sudden removal of her artwork.

Titled “Goldsmith,” the mural was completed by Volchkova in four days in April 2016.

Julia compared her art to her children, emphasizing the significant time and effort she poured into the project under tough conditions.

“Creating this work was very difficult, in unbearable conditions. I spent my time, my knowledge, my health on it. I have health problems after creating such heavy works,” she shared, underlining the physical and emotional toll of her work.

Reflecting on her two decades of experience in street art, Volchkova acknowledged the harsh reality many street artists face.

Despite the setback, Volchkova remains philosophical about the nature of street art.

“If you paint on the street, be prepared for your work to be painted over,” she concluded, inviting her followers to express their opinions and join the discussion in the comments.
