In a bizarre turn of events, a resident named Faiszan recently found himself face-to-face with an unexpected houseguest – a pangolin, locally known as ‘tenggiling.’
While encounters with typical household creatures like cats, dogs, and even snakes are not uncommon, stumbling upon a pangolin in a climate-friendly country is indeed out of the ordinary.
‘Is this a pig?’
Faiszan shared a 21-second video capturing the surreal moment when he discovered the pangolin hanging by a window, seemingly unfazed by the camera pointed at it.
In the footage, the men behind the camera can be heard speculating about whether the pangolin is alive or not.
One of them hilariously mistakes the creature for a pig, saying: “Is this a pig?” to which another promptly corrects him, saying, “You fool, this is a pangolin.”
Pangolin had no fear towards him and his friend
Speaking to WeirdKaya, Faiszan disclosed that the pangolin had inadvertently ended up trapped in his storeroom.
Contrary to expectations, the pangolin did not display fear in the presence of Faiszan and his friend. Following the video, Faiszan promptly released the pangolin from its unintended captivity.
“It wasn’t scared of us at all. After I finished recording it, I released it from the storeroom.”

As of the time of writing, the video has amassed an impressive 1 million views.
The comment section reflects the amusement of viewers, with one person expressing concern for the endangered species, stating, “This animal is almost extinct. Let it live its way.”
Another comment reminisced about the pangolin’s once exorbitant value, noting, “Back then, this was one of the most expensive animals, and now they are hard to find.”
Adding a touch of humour, a commenter playfully addressed the individual who mistook the pangolin for a pig: “Is this a pig?”
