‘If you’re unlucky, you’ll die. Problem solved!’ MOH district office’s remark baffles many

PARIT BUNTAR – “If you’re lucky, you will recover; if not, you’ll die and your problem’s settled.” These were the words written by the Kerian Health District Office (Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah Kerian) on its official Facebook page yesterday (Sept 12), prompting online backlash for its unsympathetic tone.

Many netizens took to the comment section to criticise the office for its lack of professionalism in making such remarks.

MOH, please monitor the admin. He/she may be depressed and can’t think straight. Please give admin a booster now!” wrote one netizen.

Another named Ajmi AJ also said the post shouldn’t have been written publicly by government employees.

Government employees are obliged to work and serve the community and the people.

Kosmo! also reported that there were also numerous toxic comments wishing death on those struggling to survive at the ICU.

“If you want to solve the [COVID-19] problem, just leave those in the ICU to die! That way, MOH won’t be tired anymore,” wrote one named Nurul Atikah.

However, the post has since been deleted and the office issued an apology over the insensitive post.

“We are now investigating the case and action will be taken accordingly.”
