Getting stuck at a toll plaza with an insufficient Touch ’n Go balance is stressful enough, especially when a line of vehicles is forming behind you.
However, one Malaysian woman’s stressful situation recently turned into a heartwarming reminder that kindness can come from complete strangers.

The woman shared on Threads that the incident happened recently at the Batu 9 toll plaza, where she realised her Touch ’n Go card did not have enough balance upon reaching the toll booth.
Unable to pass through, she pulled over to the side of the road, switched on her hazard lights and began topping up her card.
As traffic started building up, she noticed the driver of a yellow lorry behind her signalling for her to move forward.
Thought the lorry driver was angry
Speaking to WeirdKaya, the woman said she initially assumed the driver was upset because her vehicle was holding up traffic.

She followed his instructions and moved her car forward, only to realise that he was not trying to scold or rush her. Instead, the lorry driver was offering to help pay for her toll.
However, by that point, she had already successfully topped up her Touch ’n Go balance. But she still thanked the driver for his offer before continuing her journey.
Touched by his willingness to help
Although the driver did not end up paying for her toll, the woman said his willingness to help a complete stranger left a lasting impression on her.
She added that she was genuinely touched by the simple gesture, especially since the driver had no obligation to assist her.
“The fact that he was willing to help a complete stranger meant a lot to me.
“The incident served as a reminder that there are still many kind Malaysians who are willing to help others, regardless of race,” she said.
The woman also wished the driver continued blessings and hoped that his kindness would be repaid many times over.
