Kind staff that goes the extra mile.

A trip to Genting turned stressful for a Kuala Lumpur-based family after the mother realized she had lost her wallet.

The couple, who were returning from their outing with their two children, only realized the wallet was missing midway.

Only realized wallet missing halfway

“It was only on our way back to Raub that we noticed the wallet was gone. I had almost given up on it, but my wife insisted on reaching out to the Marrybrown restaurant where we had our meal,” shared the husband on social media.

After locating the restaurant’s contact online, they called and spoke to an employee named Kogi (they were unsure about the spelling).

To their relief, Kogi confirmed having found a wallet under one of the tables which matched the description provided by the wife.

The staff confirmed that they had found it under a table, but it didn’t contain any ID, saying it only had cash in it.

Indeed, the purse only had money meant for the family’s monthly groceries. They were truly touched by the honesty of the Marrybrown Sky Avenue staff who had found and kept the purse safe.

Honest staff goes the extra mile

Instead of mailing the wallet back, to avoid any further misplacement, the family and Kogi agreed on a bank transfer.

She even offered to post the purse to us. However, concerned about the potential loss in the mail, she instead suggested transferring the money through a bank. Shortly after, Kogi sent us a photo of the bank transfer receipt. Such efficiency!

“The effort to queue up at bank and return the modest sum of money, was heartening.”

Emailed Genting’s Marrybrown to praise the staff

When the family proposed sending a token of appreciation, Kogi humbly declined, stating that it was the company’s policy to safeguard any items customers leave behind.

The husband took to social media to praise the chain’s staff for their honesty and kindness.

“It’s not about the monetary value but the honesty, sincerity, and respect shown to the customers,” he said.

The family also sent an email to the restaurant commending her honesty, which the restaurant acknowledged.
