Police are looking for witnesses to the incident.
A local man was killed in a hit-and-run accident after he had finished changing a flat tyre on his car on Monday night (July 6).

According to Kajang district police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof, the incident occurred at Km13 of the Cheras–Kajang Expressway at around 10pm, reported NST.

Hit by car

Based on initial investigations, the victim, a 46-year-old man, was driving a silver Toyota Innova with five passengers when one of the tyres got punctured.

He then parked his car by the side of the road to replace the flat tyre. After he was done with the task, he walked to the rear of his vehicle to remove a bucket he had placed as a warning for other motorists.

As he was removing the bucket, a red Toyota Innova appeared and hit him, killing him on the spot.

The other driver fled the scene without stopping to check on the victim.

Police are probing the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
