A pair of sisters were tragically killed after they were knocked down by an SUV before it fled the scene in Klang on Friday (May 15).
The victims were identified as Wong Nyok Sim and Wong Nyoke Fong, who died at the scene due to severe head injuries.
Nyoke Fong’s 17-year-son, who was also hit by the SUV, suffered minor injuries and was sent to the hospital for treatment, reported Sin Chew Daily.

Had taken a walk after dinner
What made the incident all the more tragic was the fact that Nyok Sim had planned to celebrate Mother’s Day with her daughter, Tan Xiao Tian (transliteration) the next day on May 16.
Speaking to Sin Chew Daily, Tan said her mother was originally from Jerantut, Pahang, and had gone to Klang to visit her sister.
Tan added her mother had retired in June 2025 from running a hardware store.
After dinner, Nyok Sim and Nyok Fong decided to take a walk, not knowing that it would be their final time together.

Police have since impounded a silver SUV believed to have been involved in the accident.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving, which provides a maximum jail term of up to 10 years, and a fine of not less than RM20,000 and not more than RM50,000, on conviction.
‘We want justice’
Nyok Sim and Nyok Fong’s remains were collected by family members and their funeral was held in Jerantut.
Tan later penned an emotional Facebook post calling for justice to be served to her mother and aunt, who had their lives taken away in a senseless manner.
“Two lives were lost, leaving behind a pain and grief that two families will never be able to heal from forever.

Why is it when someone’s recklessness takes away the most important people in another person’s life, the price they pay feels so lenient?
“My cousin lost his mother and an aunt who loved him dearly overnight, while my siblings and I lost our mother for good.”
Tan also slammed the SUV driver for choosing to run away instead of helping her mother and aunt in the accident.
“If the driver had chosen to stop, help the victims, and call the police, things would not have turned out this way. But instead, he/she chose to flee the scene, leaving them completely helpless.

“To us, this is no longer just an ordinary traffic accident. It is the start of a family being completely changed forever.”
Our condolences to the family for their loss.
