‘Hard As A Rock’ – M’sian Customer Rants About McSpicy Chicken He Ordered From McDonald’s

Looks like McSahara >.<
Food delivery can occasionally be a letdown, with the possibility of your meal arriving a tad colder or not as fresh, all due to transit time and packaging challenges. Recently, a fellow Malaysian experienced a similar situation.

A Malaysian man who ordered food delivery shared his recent experience of receiving McDonald’s McSpicy Chicken in his nasi lemak, which was in a disappointing condition.

He described the chicken meat as resembling rock hardness.

M’sian unhappy with rock-hard McSpicy Chicken

Sharing his disappointing experience in a Facebook group, 我来自甲洞(大马帮), the man, who keeps his identity as an anonymous participant, expressed his dissatisfaction over the meal he received through delivery.

The OP explained that he ordered a Nasi Lemak meal from McDonald’s through Shopee for the seemingly good deal of RM10.95 via McDelivery.

“I was looking forward to a fresh and spicy McSpicy Chicken,” the OP wrote in the post.

Arriving in just 20 minutes, the eagerly awaited delivery brought with it a disappointing surprise.

When he opened the package, he was met with detached chicken skin and rock-hard chicken meat, both dry and tough, far from the mouthwatering experience he had anticipated.

“Was this frozen fried chicken reheated, or is it leftover chicken?” the unhappy OP wrote in the post he shared.

Furthermore, he questioned the promotional efforts and advertising of the delivery service, as they seemed significantly different from what he had actually received.

Under the post, a netizen points out that the packaging may be cold, making it hard to keep the food warm, especially after more than 20 minutes have passed.

In response, the OP replied, “Oh, I actually ordered two boxes, and the non-spicy fried chicken in the other box was fine. Plus, this isn’t my first time ordering McD Nasi Lemak delivery.”

“The entire process, from placing the order to receiving it, only took 20 minutes. The delivery guy took only 4 minutes after picking up the order to get it to me. The rest of the time was probably spent waiting for my meal to be prepared at the restaurant.” the OP stated.

In response to another netizen, the OP, who desires to share this matter casually within the group, clarified that he had no intention of escalating it and also noted that he has taken the initiative to lodge a detailed complaint directly with the brand through email.

Netizens have shared their thoughts on this

A few netizens have taken to the comment section to express their opinions on this matter.

“I don’t know if it’s leftover, but the detached chicken skin you delivered seems like it’s been sitting for a long time.”

“Fortunately, I only order burgers and wraps to eat, which are fresher.”

“It feels like it’s been double-fried. I’m a fried chicken enthusiast. I’ve eaten countless chickens. Based on visual experience.”

“McD’s nasi lemak is super terrible, in my personal opinion.”
