Most Malaysians certainly have a favorite ice cream flavour, especially those who enjoy cold treats.
However, the gula apong ice cream will always hold a special place in our hearts as it’s a popular treat that uses palm sugar made from Sarawakian palm trees. And it seems to be no different for this South Korean actor too!
Tries out gula apong ice cream
In an episode of Yoo Seung Ho’s reality show Off The Grid, it showed the actor paying a visit and taking multiple photos of the idyllic city of Kuching, Sarawak.

After spending a long, hot day of exploring, Yoo decided to head over to a kiosk at Kuching Waterfront to try out the gula apong ice cream.
Although he claimed that he was never a fan of desserts, but he was desperately in need of a cold treat due to the sweltering weather.
Not long after, he then received his ice cream, which was generously sprinkled with crushed nuts and syrup derived from the abundantly produced palm sugar in Sarawak.

Only two bites in the ice cream, it was clear that Yoo was truly, madly, and deeply in love with it.
“Mmm…this is so good,” he was heard saying as he slurped up every drop of the ice cream.

In addition to the ice cream, Yoo’s love for photography was also reignited during the episode’s filming, as evidenced by the many photos he took of the historical city in the video.
‘Thank you for coming!’
In the comment section, netizens thanked Yoo for visiting Sarawak and even gave recommendations on its local cuisine.

Many also praised Yoo’s abilities as a photographer and host.
