We’ve all had moments where a harmless joke suddenly spirals into something unexpected, especially when the joke involves authority figures.
A group of young men recently found themselves in such a situation when their playful antics with a police patrol car turned into a hilarious chase that captured the internet’s attention.
The incident, shared on the Royal Malaysia Police’s Instagram account (@pdrm_official), began innocently enough.
The group was seen standing by the roadside in the rain, seemingly enjoying the downpour.
As a patrol car passed by, one of the men decided to wave his shirt in the vehicle’s direction, likely just to tease the officers.
However, the joke took a serious twist when the patrol car stopped and reversed toward the group.
What followed was pure comedy as the young men scrambled in panic, running in all directions to avoid a potential confrontation with the officers.
Their dramatic escape, highlighted by one man’s particularly swift sprint, became an internet sensation, with netizens flocking to the comments section to share their amusement.
One user commented, “They all turned into Sukma athletes instantly. I’ve been there too, running from a ‘teacher’… thank goodness I managed to leap over a big ditch!”
Another added, “Do they think that’s their neighbour to joke around with like that?”
A third joked about one of the men lagging behind, saying, “The guy at the back ran faster than Usain Bolt!”
