With Chinese New Year just more than a week away and China finally opening its borders yesterday (Jan 8), many have travelled to other countries to reunite with their families.
One of them was this grandma, who had a red carpet welcome upon her arrival at Changi Airport.
Red carpet welcome at Changi Airport
In a 28-second clip posted by 8World News on Facebook, it showed a family of four setting up a small red carpet at the arrival hall of Changi Airport Terminal 1.
A young boy and girl were seen waiting for their grandma to arrive, where they were holding a bouquet and a sign reading “A warm welcome, dear grandma”.
Seconds later, an elderly woman, believed to be the grandma, was pushed out in a wheelchair by an airport staff.
Upon seeing her family, the woman got up from the wheelchair and walked down the red carpet as the children rushed to greet her.
