Former national badminton player and Olympic silver medalist Goh Liu Ying has embraced a new chapter in her life following the birth of her first child.
Sharing the happy news with Malaysians, she posted a picture of her newborn baby on her official Facebook page yesterday (Aug 31).
‘Saya Anak Malaysia!’
In the photo, it showed the baby sleeping soundly in a cradle which was adorned with several Malaysian flags.
To add on to the joyous occasion, the baby was born on the same day Malaysia achieved independence, which falls on August 31.
Welcome to the new world, my Merdeka baby. Saya Anak Malaysia,” wrote Goh in the caption.
Back in April, Goh announced her pregnancy to netizens by sharing a picture of her and partner holding her baby bump.

In the comment section, netizens joined Goh in celebrating the significant moment and congratulated her on the new arrival of a baby.
