A remarkable achievement by a Korean student in Sabah has recently gone viral on social media.
This student, who attends SRS Datuk Simon Fung in Kota Kinabalu, scored 8As in the 2023 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination.
In a TikTok post by @diboring, the student shared that they are the first Korean student to achieve such outstanding results in SPM.
Aimed for straight As
Although slightly disappointed for not getting all A+, they expressed gratitude for their accomplishment.
“Even though I didn’t get all A+s, I did my best. Life goes on, and now I’ll focus on getting into Stanford,” they wrote in the TikTok caption.
The student shares that she plans to further their education at Stanford University. However, before that, they will be taking A Levels at Taylor’s University.
In the comments section on TikTok, some netizens asked which exams were more challenging, those in Malaysia or Korea.
The student replied that exams in Korea are definitely tougher, comparable to university exams, unlike SPM, which is at the secondary level.
