Heavy rain can disrupt daily life, causing traffic jams, flooding, and delays in outdoor activities, making people’s lives more hectic.
As being said, a massive tree collapsed during heavy rainfall, resulting in substantial damage to five vehicles parked in the lot of a business center in Kota Damansara yesterday (November 1).
Rain causes massive tree to collapse, damaging vehicles
As reported by MalaysiaGazette, a huge tree collapsed, damaging five vehicles that were parked at Sunway Giza, Kota Damansara.
Confirming this incident, the Assistant Director of Operations of the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar, mentioned that the state operations room received an emergency call regarding the incident at around 3.36 in the afternoon.
Ahmad explained that a team of firefighters from the Section 7 Fire and Rescue Station in Damansara quickly arrived at the scene.
In a statement, he explained that one tree had fallen and struck five cars, which included a Perodua Axia, Proton Saga BLM, Nissan Almera, Honda City, and Honda City Hatchback.
Furthermore, Ahmad Mukhlis added that upon a closer inspection at the scene, there were no casualties involved in the incident when it occurred.
Tree has been removed
According to the report, the tree removal work has been successfully finished.
In a separate incident, seven fallen trees blocking the road on Persiaran Meranti in Bandar Sri Damansara were reported at the same time, attributed to heavy rain and strong winds this afternoon.
Ahmad said the work to clear the road and remove the fallen trees was actively carried out, and traffic flow returned to normal.
