Following a heavy downpour, a tree toppled onto Jalan Sultan Ismail, obstructing the road in front of the Concorde Hotel and trapping several vehicles beneath it.
Social media updates on Tuesday (May 7) revealed that the fallen tree also disrupted the KL Monorail track.
Rapid KL acknowledged the situation via a Facebook post, announcing expected delays on the monorail line between Bukit Nanas and Raja Chulan stations due to the obstruction.
Additionally, several individuals were spotted assisting those trapped in their vehicles to escape.

The fire and rescue department of Kuala Lumpur reported that its team rescued two individuals trapped under the fallen tree.
Unfortunately, paramedics pronounced one of the victims deceased at the scene.
JBPM reported that they received an emergency call at 2:19 PM regarding an incident involving a large tree that fell and crushed 17 vehicles, a monorail track, and public facilities in front of the Shangri-La Hotel on Jalan Sultan Ismail.
