Anwar: M’sians To Enjoy Free Tolls On Jan 20 & 21 For CNY

Good news.
Malaysians can look forward to a merrier Chinese New Year on Jan 20 and 21 after the government announced that all toll fees will be exempted in conjunction with Chinese New Year.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that this two-day offer will be applicable to all toll booths nationwide.

‘Good news this CNY’

This comes following a discussion between Transport Minister Anthony Loke and toll concession companies, where both agreed to waive toll fees for these two days.

said during a press conference following today’s Cabinet meeting.

Good news. The transport minister took the initiative to speak with toll concession companies, and they decided not to impose tolls on the 20th and 21st.

“After that, please pay your toll fees,” quipped Anwar during a press conference today.

In light of increasing road fatalities, Anwar urged Malaysians to be cautious while on the road and follow road safety standards.

Earlier today, Anthony Loke warned that Malaysians will face their day in court if they’re caught breaking non-compoundable traffic offenses during Chinese New Year.
