Former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has been hospitalized for treatment, and his condition is reported to be stable.
This news was shared by his son-in-law, former Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, through an Instagram story today.
In good condition
According to Khairy’s statement, Tun Abdullah was admitted to the National Heart Institute (IJN) yesterday due to a small spontaneous pneumothorax, a medical condition involving the collapse of a lung. He assured the public that Tun Abdullah’s current state is stable.
The Instagram post by Khairy included further details, stating that Tun Abdullah is still under the watchful eyes of medical professionals in the intensive care unit (CCU) at the National Heart Institute.
“God willing, he is presently in good condition but needs ample rest,” Khairy conveyed on behalf of the family.
He extended gratitude towards well-wishers for their prayers and words of encouragement directed at Tun Abdullah.
However, Khairy also mentioned that the National Heart Institute advises against any visitors to Tun Abdullah at this stage, presumably to ensure a peaceful and uninterrupted recovery.
