A foreign worker was reprimanded by a Malay man in a shopping mall for attempting to purchase a packet of subsidized cooking oil, causing the worker to return the item to the shelf.
According to a video shared on the social media platform X, the incident took place in a grocery store and involved several foreign workers attempting to buy subsidized cooking oil.

The incident occurred while several foreign workers were shopping for daily necessities. one of them picked up a few packets of subsidized cooking oil and headed to the checkout.
At this moment, a Malay man noticed the situation and immediately intervened, loudly reprimanding the foreign worker and preventing him from purchasing the subsidized cooking oil.
The man filmed the encounter with his phone camera, loudly insisting that the subsidized cooking oil was a benefit reserved exclusively for Malaysian citizens and that foreign workers should not exploit this privilege.

“This isn’t allowed! You must buy bottled cooking oil. This (subsidized cooking oil) can only be purchased by Malaysians!”
“Are you a Malaysian? Then why are you buying it? Have you paid taxes?”
Initially, the foreign worker seemed to ignore the Malay man, but the latter’s continuous and loud scolding eventually forced the worker to reluctantly return the subsidized cooking oil to the shelf.
Throughout the video, the man could be heard repeatedly shouting that only tax-paying Malaysians were entitled to purchase the subsidized cooking oil and that foreign workers in Malaysia should adhere to local rules.
