A heart-wrenching video of a foreign worker eating on the ground after receiving food from a kind Malaysian woman has gone viral, drawing sympathy from netizens.
According to TikTok user @anyssophiaa, the incident happened when a foreign man stopped by her house in Petaling Jaya on his bicycle.
Starving for two days
He asked if there was any job he could do, while explaining that he had not eaten for two days because his employer had yet to pay him for his previous work.
I told him I didn’t have any work at home for him, but I still went inside to get some food to give him,” she said.

The man, believed to be a construction or odd-job worker, immediately sat cross-legged in front of her house and began eating the food on the spot. He was also seen drinking tap water to quench his thirst.
The TikTok user admitted she was deeply affected by the scene.
It was heartbreaking to watch. He was clearly so hungry,” she shared.
Netizens Share Sympathy and Anger
The video quickly gained attention online, with many expressing sadness and anger over the man’s situation.
“At least he’s hardworking and wants to work, not beg 🥺”

“I work at a hardware store. I always see foreign workers being treated badly. But honestly, they’re nice to us.”

“A reminder that he is not just a worker, but also someone’s father and someone’s child.”
