A Malaysian woman recently took to social media to express her frustration over what she claims was a sneaky attempt by a foreign worker to get a free meal — using her home address without her knowledge.
According to the mStar, the woman was caught off guard when a food delivery rider showed up at her doorstep, despite her not having ordered anything.
Receives an unexpected delivery
Suddenly the doorbell rang and the rider delivered food. My husband asked if I had ordered anything, and I told him no. We kept checking until we realized it was one of the workers fixing the road behind our house who had made the order,” she said.

She explained that the man, a foreign worker involved in roadworks near her home, had allegedly used her address when placing the food order on a delivery app.
He later claimed the app had “automatically detected” the address based on his parking location behind their house.
Refused to pay for the food
However, the situation escalated when the rider called the man and he reportedly replied casually, saying he didn’t have money to pay for the food.
Out of sympathy, her husband ended up footing the bill.
He said he had no money, but still managed to order food online?” she vented.
“My husband pitied him because he was working under the hot sun and paid the RM15 for him.”
What made it more baffling was that when locals from a nearby surau offered him food for free, the man allegedly declined — possibly because it didn’t suit his taste.
He acted like it wasn’t a big deal. We didn’t even know him, but he rejected food offered by people from the surau. RM15 is not the issue — it’s the dishonesty that bothers us,” she added.
Never intended to shame the man
After the post went viral, the woman clarified that she never intended to shame the man or cause a public uproar.
If I wanted to go viral, I would’ve posted his name, photo, and the location. The rider even showed us his name.”
“My husband paid out of kindness, may God reward him. I just felt uneasy because I don’t think that man was being honest,” she concluded.
