Foreign Man Stabs Colleague Who Drank His Orange Juice In Shah Alam

The suspect is now being probed for murder.
While most people would have the courtesy to ask for permission before taking someone’s food or drink, there are times where one might forget or simply assume that they’re close enough with the person to do so.

A Bangladeshi worker in Shah Alam lost his life after he was stabbed multiple times by his colleague for drinking his orange juice.

NST reported that the grisly act took place at a workers’ hostel of a factory in Section 36, Shah Alam yesterday (Mar 19).

According to a statement by Shah Alam district police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, he said police were alerted of the incident after receiving a report at 7.20pm.

Investigations revealed that the stabbing was believed to have stemmed over orange juice belonging to a 51-year-old Pakistani suspect, which the 49-year-old Bangladeshi victim drank while breaking fast.

“The suspect and victim have been living together in a container converted into a factory hostel.

The suspect’s anger was aroused when the victim drank his orange juice during iftar, prompting the suspect to stab the victim multiple times with a knife taken from the kitchen,” said Iqbal.

The suspect was arrested at the crime scene at 7.30pm and the knife believed to have been used in the murder was also seized by police.

Police are now investigating the incident under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, which carries the death penalty and imprisonment not less than 30 years but not exceeding 40 years.

Should the death penalty not be meted out, the suspect faces caning not less than 12 times.
