We all know that it is not easy to attain a leave from your employer without a valid reason. But what if your boss permits your application for leave for not only a day but 14 days to watch a football match? Sounds impossible, right?
Well, it did happen in real life, as a Japanese football fan flew all the way to Qatar to watch the FIFA World Cup after being permitted leave for a fortnight by his boss.
‘Enjoy your vacation and the World Cup!’
The FIFA World Cup uploaded a photo last Wednesday (Nov 23), where a football fan who is believed to be a Japanese could be seen holding a banner which says: “Dear my boss, thank you for my 2 week off!”
“This is for all the bosses out there,” the photo was attached with a cheeky caption.
The tweet went viral in no time, with many raised suspicion about whether he really got approved for a two-week leave for the football championship due to Japan’s high-pressure work environment.
However, it has been upheld by none other than NTT East, the company where the man is most likely working at, as it wished him a happy vacation and an enjoyable experience spectating the games in a retweet of FIFA World Cup’s post.
Enjoy your vacation and the World Cup!

‘Are you still lack of employees?’
The retweet, which has since garnered 58.4k likes and 17.9k retweets at the time of writing, saw netizens expressing envy towards the man for the company’s welfare and feeling interested in applying to work at the company.
Some commended that the man did an excellent job in increasing the company’s popularity, with one saying that the company should give the man a raise thanks to that.
“This is an advertisement better than one with tens of thousands of yen spent on.”
