A devastating fire broke out at a paint powder processing factory located at Jalan 13/3, Section 13, Petaling Jaya (PJ), earlier today (26 Mar).
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Director Morni Mamat confirmed that emergency services received a distress call regarding the incident at 4:42 am.
According to Mamat, a total of 29 personnel, along with 12 vehicles from the Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) of a few areas, including Section 7, Penchala, Puchong, Subang, Kota Anggerik, and Damansara, were promptly dispatched to the scene.
The firefighters worked tirelessly to control the blaze, which had already consumed 40% of the ‘A’ class building.
Mamat stated that the fire department’s efforts were successful, as no casualties were reported as of 5:20 am.
The fire was finally brought under complete control at 8:11 am, after which the fire department began overhauling to ensure the fire’s complete extinguishment and assess the damage.
The fire and rescue team’s preliminary investigation revealed no signs of chemical spills or other hazardous materials at the site of the fire.
The cause of the fire is still being determined, and further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
Despite the extensive damage to the factory, the swift and effective response of the fire and rescue team prevented any loss of life or injury.
The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to safety regulations and maintaining proper protocols in industrial settings.
