What was supposed to be an enjoyable family day quickly turned violet after a physical fight broke out between a delivery rider, his wife, and a group of Malaysians involved in the family day.
What happened
In the 1-minute clip posted on Twitter, it first started off with the delivery rider landing a solid punch on the face of a bald man dressed in a red t-shirt.

This inevitably led to a chaotic sequence of events, where the rider was beaten up by the bald man’s family members.
Amid the chaos, the rider’s wife rushed to his side and tried to protect him from being beaten further and suffered a few kicks to her own body in the process.

Not what it seems
At first, netizens were quick to slam the bald man’s family for attacking the rider and his wife in broad daylight.

However, it later emerged that there was more to the story, according to one of the bald man’s family member.
She explained that the family had booked the entire homestay for a family day but later received a complain from a woman and her son who were at the pool about the loud music.
She then told the pair that the family had booked the entire place and that the music wasn’t an issue to begin with. She added that management had informed them that no one was allowed to enter the premises except for their family members.
Upset by her answer, the woman then stomped off and returned with her husband, the delivery rider. He then allegedly questioned who had assaulted his wife.

The family member claimed that the rider then swung his helmet towards the bald man, which wasn’t shown in the video.
She also said that the original video was too long and had to be edited but hopes that the public will judge the situation fairly following her explanation.

11 arrested for rioting
Malay Mail later reported that eleven men, ranging between 17 to 62 years old were detained yesterday in order to assist police investigations into the brawl that took place at Sri Gading Batu Pahat.
Batu Pahat police chief Assistant Commissioner Ismail Dollah said police received two complaints about the altercation, one from the bald man’s family and another from the rider.

Both complainants claimed to have suffered injuries to their body and head.
“Following that, police arrested the 11 men who were locals from the area and the case is currently being probed under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting,” he said.
