FF1 Number Plate Bought By Johor Sultan For RM1.2mil, The Highest Bid Amount So Far

Making history in Malaysia.
Not too long ago, there was a huge bidding war for the FF number plate, where a total of RM34 million was collected by the Road Transport Department (JPJ).

That time, the highest bidding amount stood at RM950,000 for the FF8 number plate. However, that record was broken by the Johor Sultan himself!

Johor Sultan pays RM1.2mil for FF1 number plate

This was recently revealed by Transport Minister Anthony Loke, who took to Facebook yesterday to announce who was the one who snagged the coveted FF1 number plate.

Turns out, the bidder was Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, who paid a whopping RM1.2mil for it.

 “This morning (June 11), I went before His Majesty the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim to symbolically present the FF1 number plate to His Majesty, who is now the owner of the unique and special number. His Majesty had agreed to pay the government RM1.2 million for it!”

With this bid amount, this makes the Johor Sultan the proud owner of the highest bid ever made and further increased JPJ’s total revenue collection to RM35.4 million.
