In the first episode, the ever-handsome Gong Yoo hands the down-and-out protagonist Song Gi-Hun a business card as a way to rescue himself from massive debts.

Desperate for a miracle, Gi-Hun gives the number a fateful call and the rest is history.

Fans of the show were so drawn into the storyline that some decided to call the number out of curiosity.

And they really got through.

On the other end of the line, however, is an extremely confused man wondering why people are blowing his phone up.

Korean Herald reported that the man, who is unnamed, has never watched the series for himself.

“I’ve had some 4,000 calls come in every day.

“I have been using this number for more than 10 years, so I am quite taken aback,” he said.

Following the onslaught of prank calls, Netflix Korea is reportedly getting in touch with the man to resolve the issue.
