SEKINCHAN – A family of six sustained burns to their bodies as they fled from a fire that destroyed their home in Jalan Makmur, Pasir Panjang early this morning.
Husband Jamri Manap, 41, and his wife, Jurina Aziz, 46, were sleeping in the house with their four children when the fire broke out at 3 am.
Fortunately, all of them managed to escape the raging inferno alive.
The fire subsequently razed 90% of the house to the ground and 60% of a Proton Wira.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said they received an emergency call at 3.04 am.
“A team of 16 officers, three vehicles and an Emergency Services Assistance Unit (ERMS) van from the Sekinchan and Sungai Besar Fire and Rescue Station were deployed to the scene.
“All the victims suffered burns on their limbs and were sent to the Tanjong Karang Hospital for treatment,” he said.

Norazam added that the fire was brought under control at 3.32 am and completely extinguished at 4.15 am.
However, the cause of the fire and estimated losses are currently under investigation.
