Two days ago (May 5), national footballer Faisal Halim was left grievously injured after unknown individuals approached him and splashed acid on him at a parking lot in Kota Damansara.
The attack has since left his body badly ravaged, where he sustained severe burn wounds caused by the acid.

Faisal Halim’s condition now critical, says FAS president
However, what was thought to to be second-degree burns sustained by Faisal has now turned into something more serious, according to Selangor Football Association (FAS) deputy president Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar.
He told Harian Metro that the footballer underwent surgery at a private hospital in Shah Alam yesterday (May 6) and was found to be in worse shape than expected.
Doctors at first thought Faisal suffered second-degree burns. However, after being transferred to another hospital for further treatment, the burns were diagnosed as fourth-degree.
Aside from the physical wounds, Shahril added that Faisal’s speech and movement have been severely affected by the acid attack.

“He can’t feel his left arm…He can’t communicate clearly… He’s feeling stiff, unable to talk well,” he said, adding that Faisal is expected to be out of action for at least five to six months.
Attackers shouted ‘Good luck!’ before splashing acid
According to OHBULAN!, two men were on a motorcycle and reportedly yelled ‘good luck!’ before splashing the acid at Faisal.
Police have since arrested two individuals believed to be behind the attack, with one in his 20s and another in his late 30s, reported FMT.

Three days before Faisal was ambushed, another footballer named Akhyar Rashid was beaten up and robbed while returning home after training.
