A woman recently took to social media to share shocking video footage which showed her grandmother being assaulted by a man at the backyard of her house in Melaka.

In the Facebook post, the woman named Grace Tai wrote that her grandmother was attacked by the son of the owner of The Baruh Glamping.

Accompanying the lengthy post was a 30-second video, which showed the man running towards Grace’s grandmother and hitting her at the head.

At one point, the elderly woman fell to the ground but could be heard hurling curse words at the man.

Speaking to WeirdKaya, Grace said that the open burning wasn’t frequent and only happened once or twice a week.

However, the issue quickly got out of hand and she proceeded to negotiate with The Baruh Glamping’s owner to explore the possibility of implementing a systematic waste disposal method.

After multiple attempts of negotiation through WhatsApp, the owner blocked us and refused to discuss further.

“I decided to pursue legal action through the police, but all they did was issue a warning letter to The Baruh Glamping. Since then, the open burning became more rampant despite the warning letters,” she said.

Grace also alleged that the open burning was an act of revenge and it has since caused her grandmother’s health to deteriorate.

She also added that she installed a CCTV at the backyard as a precautionary measure after witnessing the tension escalating between both parties.

The Baruh Glamping responds

Today, The Baruh Glamping posted a video explaining their side of the story, claiming that Grace’s grandmother was the aggressor and tried to pick a fight with them using a stick.

They also claimed that the staff retaliated in self-defense, adding that they wanted to “chase her away and take the wooden stick from her so that she wouldn’t use it to hit us again”.

However, nowhere did the clip show Grace’s grandmother attacking the staff with the stick, except for a few heated verbal exchanges.
