“The worst omakase I’ve had so far. My birthday meal has been ruined,” she lamented.

The first item on the list was a handroll, which she described as “insincere” and said that the carrot slices were still raw and hard to chew.

Next up was the tofu, which, based on her verdict, was unpalatable, overcooked, and bland.

I purposely came with an empty stomach to enjoy gourmet food, but the more I eat, the sadder I am. We booked this room for 12 pax at a minimum of RM10,000 but this is what we get.”

Just when things couldn’t get worse, Qiuwen was forced to end her omakase meal on a sour note with the dessert, which she described as “cheap”.

“The cake tasted like it came from the convenience store. None of these were made fresh and looked like they were taken out from the fridge,” she wrote.

As for her boyfriend Cyrus, his experience wasn’t any better, no thanks to the chef’s alleged rudeness and lack of care.

According to him, he requested for wasabi but the chef allegedly told him to use the sauce from his food instead.

To add insult to injury, Cyrus claimed that he suffered diarrhea and stomach cramps after having the omakase meal.

And if you thought Qiuwen’s statement about spending thousands on the meal was hard to believe, perhaps the RM12,000 receipt will change your mind:

For those unaware, “omakase” means ‘I leave it to you’ in Japanese, where diners give the chef the green light to cook up dishes which he personally believes are specialties.
