Malaysian badminton star Dato’ Lee Chong Wei recently cleared the air on the number of cars he owns during a fan Q&A session.
Despite rumours, he confirmed that he does not own ten cars but admitted to having a sports car.
Lee, speaking in a video, addressed fans’ curious questions about his past training and cars, sparking lively discussions among his supporters.
One fan joked that Lee must have more than 10 cars. Lee laughed it off, denying the claim, but did admit to owning a sports car.
“Everyone knows I have a sports car. Being an athlete, I wanted one,” he said.
He also shared that his first car was a Proton Wira, followed by a Proton Waja, and his third car was a Toyota Wish.
Lee revealed that since becoming a badminton player at 19, owning his own car was one of his goals.

“When my coach asked me about my dream, I said to be Malaysia’s number one and then to buy a car,” he recalled.
When asked about his willingness to join the national badminton association as a coach, Lee admitted that he never had such intentions. “I go back to the national team once or twice a month to share, have meetings, and solve problems,” he said.
Reflecting on his 25-year career as an athlete, Lee stated that he focused solely on badminton. Now retired, he chooses to spend more time with his family.
