# Chow Kon Yeow To Be Sworn In As Penang Chief Minister At 9am Tomorrow

Incumbent Chow Kon Yeow is expected to be sworn in as the state's chief minister at 9am tomorrow, reported [Sin Chew Daily](https://www.sinchew.com.my/20230812/%E6%9B%B9%E8%A7%82%E5%8F%8B%E6%98%8E%E6%97%A99%E6%97%B6%E5%AE%A3%E8%AA%93%E4%BB%BB%E6%A7%9F%E9%A6%96%E9%95%BF/).

This comes after the PH-BN secured a two-third majority at the state polls, allowing it to form the state government.

Chow also successfully defended his Padang Kota seat with a resounding 7,116 vote majority, where he defeated PN's H’ng Khoon Leng.

Despite the win, Penangites will not be getting a public holiday on Monday (Aug 14), unlike what was offered by Selangor caretaker MB Amirudin Shari if PH-BN retains the state.
